The Birthplace of Country Music Alliance is $1 million away from breaking ground on the Birthplace of Country Music Cultural Heritage Center.  Once completed, the Center will be a Smithsonian Institution affiliate, performance hall and education space that will pump $45 million into the region over the first five years it is open.  The plan is to start construction in 2013.

Friends of 1927 are 1,927 people giving $520 to raise $1 million for the Birthplace of Country Music Cultural Heritage Center.  A large plaque featuring the names of these founding Friends will adorn the halls of the center once it is built.  The music community in the Bristol area deserves the honor of being among them.

As it sometimes goes with “starving artists”, verbal support is often easier than the financial part.   So the BCMA is helping them raise the money to become an Artist for 1927 by using their gigs as mini-fundraisers so their fans can give them that gift.

The fundraisers will continue through May.  Any artist who wishes to host a fundraiser should contact Charlene Baker at 423-573-4898.

BRRR 2012 Poster Art Competition

Each year the Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion annual poster artwork becomes an item for collectors and festival enthusiasts alike. In fact, the posters are in such high demand that many of them are completely out of print. Renowned artists such as P. The deadline for entry is Friday, February 17, 2012 at 5pm. Any submissions received after the deadline will not be considered.   There is no fee to enter.

P. Buckley Moss Unveils New Art for BRRR

Tuesday, December 6th, Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion will host a press conference at 10:30am inside Theatre Bristol at 512 State Street. The public is invited to join as Moss unveils her artistic perspective of Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion’s annual music festival–for a second time.
“Last year Moss illustrated a beautiful design called Music on State Street.  In it she featured musicians on the festival’s State Street Stage with Bristol landmarks featured prominently in the background,” says Ross. “We were so pleased with it that she offered to do two more fundraisers for us with artwork from the Piedmont and the Country Music Mural Stages.”
At Tuesday’s press conference Moss will unveil Jammin’ on Piedmont, her second offering in what will eventually be a trio of fine art designs for Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion.  Proceeds from the artwork will go to support the non-profit event.
Limited edition giclee and fine art prints of Jammin’ on Piedmontwill be available for sale at the press conference. Fine art posters are $60, giclees $95.  Moss will stay briefly after the press conference to sign her work for collectors.  The Music on State Street Limited Edition Christmas Ornament will also be available to purchase and sign for $42.  Giclee and fine art posters of Music on State Street are still available.
From 2pm to 8pm that afternoon, Tuesday, December 6th, Moss will be in Kingsport, TN at Up Against the Wall Gallery signing and personalizing her work.  Collectors are allowed to have all show pieces and up to two previously purchased items signed by the artist.  Up Against the Wall Gallery is an authorized dealer of P. Buckley Moss’ artwork and carries a number of framed and unframed prints, some signed, in stock year-round.
Collectors who wish to purchase P. Buckley Moss ornaments, giclee and fine art prints of Jammin’ on Piedmont and Music on State Street can do so online at www.upagainstthewallgallery.com, or call the festival office at 423-573-4898 to order.
